Base Board L
Assembly board with six Nanoshield slots
- Use up to six Nanoshields in your project
- Compatible with Arduino Uno, Arduino Mega R3, Arduino Nano and similar boards
- DC barrel jack input for external power supply
- Two-wire terminal block input for external power supply
- Jumper to connect an external on/off switch
The Base Board L works as the motherboard for the Nanoshields, in the same way the standard Base Board does, and allows one to assemble up to 6 modules in a simple and hassle-free way. It also makes it possible to use any Nanoshield along with an Arduino UNO, Duemilanove, Diecimila, Nano, Mega R3 or similar.
With the Base Board L, all the logic and power supply connections are implemented internally, so no additional wires, jumpers or breadboards are needed for your building your project.
If you want a more compact option, you can use the Base Board.
- 6 Nanoshield slots.
- Pin-compatible with Arduino UNO, Duemilanove, Diecimilia, Nano or Mega R3, allowing their use with Nanoshields.
- Power supply can be done either via an Arduino-compatible barrel-type DC jack or via discrete wires on the screw terminal block.
- Jumper in series with the power supply allows connection of an external switch or multimeter, if needed.
!Connecting Nanoshields to the Base Board L
To use Nanoshields with the Base Board L you just need to plug them on one of the six slots on top of the board. The Nanoshield connectors are polarized, which means the boards can't be damaged by being connected in the opposite direction.
!Using the Base Board L and the Nanoshields with Alevino
In order to use the Nanoshields with the Base Board L, you just need to connect them to the slots on the upper section of the board, such as shown on the image below. The slots on the upper section are pin-compatible with Arduino Nano, being possible to use it in one of the slots, in order to use it as the microprocessor of the project. It is also possible to use an Alevino for this function, as shown on figure below.
!Using the Base Board L Uno and the Nanoshields with Arduino
The versions of the Base Board L that come with the “Uno” ending accept the connection, at the bottom section, of boards that follow the connection standard of Arduino UNO. Besides Arduino UNO itself, the Arduino versions Duemilanove, Diecimila, Mega R3, Intel® Galileo and Intel® Edison Kit for Arduino are accepted, among other boards. See on the image below how to use the Base Board L this way:
